As part of the AWG’s ongoing work on Artificial Intelligence (AI), we’re looking into how much of our members’ work may have been used to train AI data sets.
To assist us in this work, we encourage members to take a look at this tool published by The Atlantic, and search the LibGen data set to see if your works appear on the list.
We are particularly interested in how many works by Australian playwrights appear on the list, though we encourage all members (screen, stage, audio, and interactive writers) to take a look at the tool.
If you do find your work listed, you can let us know by filling in a quick form with your name and the list of works included here.
We appreciate your time in assisting us with this information.

Your answers will assist the Australian Writers’ Guild in our policy responses. Find out more about the Guild’s position on the use of AI, including our recent submissions, via our Advocacy page.
AWG members have access to unlimited in-house industrial advice from the Guild. If you have any further questions about AI or the LibGen data set, you can reach our Industrial team at industrial@awg.com.au.
