LUNCH BREAK: WHERE DOES YOUR STORY COME FROM?
As writers, how do we think about spaces and settings when creating stories that unfold on unceded land? Moving beyond conventional western definitions, this session focuses on tools and strategies to write about urban places while appropriately engaging with their ongoing Indigenous heritage and culture. Highlighting multiple perspectives, history and understanding of urban space, this session will start writers thinking about moving beyond monocultural and clichéd conceptions of place.
