Industrial Services

Negotiation of minimum basic writers' agreements with major producers of television, radio, stage and multimedia productions.

Drafting of model writers' agreements for theatre, feature film, documentary film, television and audio-visual work, telemovies, multimedia, animation, and assorted other work.
Protection of minimum rates in all areas of performance writing.

Credit arbitration service in event of disputes over writer credits and dissemination of information concerning standard credits etc.

 Legal and copyright advice service to writers and assistance with disputes including advice with individual contracts.

Liaison with corporate and government bodies such as the Australia Council, Australian Film Commission, and the ABC on issues affecting writers.

Submissions to government inquiries on issues such as Australian content on commercial television, major organizations fund review, copyright legislation, broadcasting legislation, GATT, moral rights and arts funding.

Industry Events

AWGIE Awards for outstanding achievement in performance writing held annually. The AWGIES are the only script based awards in Australia.

Weekend seminars/ intensive workshops for members. Performance writing courses and mentorships for  stage, screen and radio.

Regular meetings and seminars (organised on a state by state basis) with distinguished writers, producers and state funding authorities.

Written script assessment service for members and face-to-face script clinics (funded by the Australian Film Commission.)
